SHINE SA continues to monitor developments relating to COVID-19. Our priority is, as always, the health and wellbeing of our staff, clients and community. We will be responding to updated health information in our commitment to this priority.
In response to the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19, SHINE SA have implemented the following measures:
SHINE SA Woodville is temporarily closed until further notice, SHINE SA Hyde Street Practice remains open
This comes in response to staff shortages and allows us to provide the safest possible service. This occurred on Wednesday 25 March 2020.
All initial consultations are now by phone
We encourage those seeking a sexual health appointment to call 8300 5300,
for General Practitioner and specialist appointments call 7099 5320.
Please note that we are prioritising appointments, please call us to discuss further. Most of our consultations are now provided by telehealth where the doctor will phone you for your initial consultation. Some clients will be seen face-to-face.
Walk-In and Wait services are temporarily unavailable

Clean Needle Program at Woodville reopens June 22.
Clients will need to access the Clean Needle Program from ‘The Cottage’ building at SHINE SA’s Woodville Clinic.

Young people under 30 years
Sexual health services are free for all clients 30 years and under, with a Medicare card. (A fee for medication/consumables may apply)
Clinical consultations are bulk-billed (no out-of-pocket cost) for clients aged over 30 from one of SHINE SA’s Communities of Interest, who hold a Health Care Card. (A fee for consumables may apply)
Clients over 30 years from one of SHINE SA’s Communities of Interest who do NOT hold a Health Care card, are asked to pay the total cost of the service at the completion of the consultation and the Medicare component is reimbursed.

$100 IUD Insertion (does not include device cost)
International students, travellers and people without Medicare cards are required to pay the total cost of the service up-front and claim the costs of the consultation and consumables from their private health insurance. SA Pathology will directly bill people without Medicare cards.
Our receptionists are able to answer any questions you may have and help you access the sexual health care you need.
