Sexual Health Teaching Associate (Consumer)
Would you like to earn some money while helping in the training of health professionals?
An opportunity exists for individuals to work in partnership with SHINE SA staff in providing a clinical learning experience for nursing and medical course participants that aims to ensure best clinical practice and optimum client outcomes. Not only would you be helping in sexual health training, but also contributing to making better experiences for other health consumers.
You would be working with our clinical educators by acting as a pseudo-client during training sessions. This would involve physical gynaecological examinations (under expert guidance), so it requires people with both a vagina and a cervix.
Under the direction and guidance of the preceptor, you would act as a Sexual Health Teaching Associate (SHTA) who contributes to a positive clinical learning experience for professional course participants.
You would be required – and assisted – to provide constructive and sensitive feedback to course participants regarding their practice in sexual health examination and assessments from the perspective of client comfort, wellbeing and interpersonal communication.
Remuneration rates are $83.10 per hour (includes casual loading) and an average session would go for 3 hours.
You will be trained prior to working in a session, and will be paid for this also.
