Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum Professional Learning

SHINE SA is the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) approved training provider for Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum (KS:CPC) professional learning.

All DECD sites are required to provide the KS:CPC to all children and young people from Preschool to Year 12. Staff delivering the curriculum must complete a full day face-to-face training as outlined in the DECD policy.

The KS:CPC professional learning is only available to the following approved organisations:

  • Department for Education and Child Development (DECD)
  • Catholic Education South Australia (CESA)
  • Association of Independent Schools of South Australia (AISSA)
  • Community Children’s Centres SA
  • Goodstart Early Learning Centres SA
  • South Australian tertiary institutions: Flinders University, University of Adelaide, University of South Australia, Tabor College.

General courses are available to educators from approved organisations throughout the year at the Education Development Centre (EDC), Hindmarsh, or scheduled regionally as required.

Site-based courses are available to approved preschools/schools or clusters of smaller sites for the full day face-to-face training.
