Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum Professional Learning

SHINE SA is the Department for Education’s approved training provider for Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum (KS:CPC) professional learning.

All Department for Education sites are required to provide the KS:CPC to all children and young people from Preschool to Year 12. Staff delivering the curriculum must complete a full day face-to-face training as outlined in the Department for Education policy.

The KS:CPC professional learning is only available to the following approved organisations:

  • Department for Education
  • Catholic Education South Australia (CESA)
  • Association of Independent Schools of South Australia (AISSA)
  • Community Children’s Centres SA
  • Goodstart Early Learning Centres SA
  • Green Leaves Early Learning Centres SA
  • Wendy’s Early Learning Centres SA
  • South Australian tertiary institutions: Flinders University, University of Adelaide, University of South Australia, Tabor College.

General courses

General courses are available to educators from approved organisations throughout the year at the Education Development Centre (EDC), Hindmarsh.

As of 2019, four of the KS:CPC courses will have a specific focus on Early Years, Primary Years, Secondary Years and Disability.

Pre-service teacher courses

Pre-service teacher courses are available to third or fourth year (or equivalent) pre-service teachers from South Australian tertiary organisations listed above.

Site-based courses are available to approved sites and organisations for the full day face-to-face training.
