Cervical Screening Credentialling involves the development and assessment of clinical skills and competencies, history taking, assessment and follow-up. It is a 2-phase process lasting approximately 4 months:
Phase 1: Must be completed within 4 weeks of attendance at the workshop unless otherwise negotiated. Cervical screening clinical training (5-8 supervised Cervical Screening Tests) after the face-to-face theory workshop,
Participants can elect to complete Phase 1:
EITHER through a SHINE SA placement* OR with a SHINE SA approved Cervical Screening Preceptor. Participants electing clinical placement at SHINE SA must have Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) and a current Child-Related Employment Screening.
*2 clinic sessions at SHINE SA, which may be over one or two days. Clinical placement at SHINE SA is limited to 4 participants per scheduled course.
Phase 1 is immediately followed by:
Phase 2: Workplace-mentored cervical screening practice for 3 months and submission of documentation for quality assurance monitoring and assessment.
Completion of Phase 2 must occur within 6 months of the Theory workshop unless by written agreement with the course coordinator.
