Our goal is to ensure that all workplaces and services are inclusive of and safe for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) people. SHINE SA has worked for many years to ensure that LGBTIQ people and communities are not only included, but celebrated in our services. Part of this work has resulted in us achieving the first Rainbow Tick Accreditation in South Australia.
SHINE SA provides two dedicated training options for organisations wishing to increase inclusivity and celebrate diversity, in line with their values and/or business plan goals.
Foundations of LGBTI Inclusion is a single session overview of the knowledge needed to create an inclusive workplace. HOW2 Create a LGBTI Inclusive Service is an in-depth, practical program which helps organisations reach their inclusivity goals and potentially achieve accreditation. In addition, all SHINE SA educational offerings are inclusive of sexual and gender diversity regardless of whether we are discussing STIs, contraception, pregnancy options or relationships. However, we also spend time exploring, language, values, prejudice and discrimination, providing safe and inclusive spaces, coming out, being a supportive ally and where to go for support.
Our FRESH (Freedom to Explore Sexual Health) courses include an in-depth exploration of sexual and gender diversity including interactive values based activities and reflection exercises as part of a comprehensive workshop on relationships and sexual health. The training helps people examine their own values and beliefs around diversity, those of their peers, their experiences in their environments and how they reflect those values in their practice. SHINE SA also run single topic forums (ReFRESH Forums) that allow workers and students to explore a topic in more depth. Keep an eye out on our ReFRESH Forum page for upcoming topics.
SHINE SA can provide tailored training packages to meet any needs. For more information contact email@example.com or phone us on 1300 794 584.
