Part 2: Introduction to sexual health counselling
This two-day workshop forms the bridge between the theoretical and clinical components, allowing participants to apply their knowledge and skills in a counselling context.
This component may also be undertaken by other professionals by negotiation.
Workshop content includes:
- what is sexual health counselling
- sexual health counselling: counsellor and client factors, PLISSIT Model for sexual health intervention, and sexual health interviewing
- sexual function problems: overview, and aetiology and treatment with case examples
- crisis counselling in sexual health
– crisis counselling: counsellor and client factors
– crisis intervention model
– crisis counselling case examples
