LGBTIQA+ Support Services and Groups

Below is a list of support services and groups run by other organisations. Each group/service runs differently and is open to people of different ages, sexualities and gender identities.

It is normal to feel a little nervous if going to a group for the first time. Most people running groups will be really happy to meet with you before the group starts to welcome you, and let you know how the group operates and answer any questions. Get in touch with each service using the details provided for further information.

Queer Quest is a social drop-in for young people aged 12-17 who identify as LGBTIQA+ or as an ally of the LGBTIQA+ community. Sessions run every Wednesday 3-6pm at The Brocas, 111 Woodville Rd, St Clair, facilitated in partnership by headspace Port Adelaide and The Brocas.

A support group for those aged 12-25 and who identify as LGBTIQA+ or questioning. A chance to engage in creative activities and socialise with new peers from the LGBTIQA+ community.

When: Fortnightly Tuesdays

A free information and social support service of Uniting Communities for people newly identifying as LGBTIQ or for those questioning their sexuality and gender identity. They also support their friends and families.

Moolagoo Mob & Blak Lemons is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander group which offers a social and support network for those who identify as gay, lesbian, sistergirl or brotherboy. They meet every month in a friendly, safe and confidential environment.

A South Australian community based organisation that provides support, education, outreach and clinical services in regard to sexual health. They offer peer based rapid HIV testing and full STI health screening. Based in Adelaide’s CBD, the space is a safe and inclusive zone for LGBTIQ community members. SAMESH provides volunteering opportunities for all men and women and youth over the age of 16 years.

The Cottage is a counselling, case work and support service for LGBTIQ community members living in Adelaide who would like support to make changes around their alcohol and/or drug use.
